How we work

Food and hydration: we always provide the precise amount of food, following their diet and provided by the tutor, including supplements, snacks or other food additives. Cleaning the drinking fountain and refilling it from the preferred source (tap, filtered or bottled). Also opening a tap if the cat likes it.

Litter box: Daily maintenance, with cleaning, replacement or change of sand when necessary and throwing garbage in the external bin.

​

Feedback: we daily update reports via text message, email or phone, letting you know how things went during the visit, mentioning topics such as your cat's appetite, mood and energy level, box usage litter box, activities carried out with your cat and any questions or concerns that arose during the visit

Interaction: With us, we let your cat dictate the rules: if they want to play during the entire visit, we will. If they want affection, we give it. If they feel comfortable going slower to gain confidence, we respect that. They're the boss!

Cleaning: Cleaning up any mess (objects on the floor, vomit or hairballs) made by the cat, as well as cleaning the surrounding area.

Liability Insurance: We have liability insurance for several reasons, all related to the financial and legal protection of both the cat sitter and the cat owners. Here are the main reasons:

​

• Coverage for Accidents Involving the Cat:

  • If the cat gets injured, falls ill, or dies while under the care of the cat sitter, liability insurance can cover veterinary expenses and any compensations demanded by the tutor.

• Damage to the Tutor´s Property:

  • If the cat causes damage to the tutor's property while under the cat sitter's care, the insurance can cover the repair or replacement costs, preventing the cat sitter from having to bear these expenses out of pocket.

• Protection Against Legal Actions:

  • Liability insurance protects the cat sitter from legal actions taken by the cat tutor for negligence, mistreatment, or other service-related issues. This includes coverage for legal costs and possible compensations.

• Credibility and Trust:

  • In Portugal, as in many other countries, having liability insurance demonstrates professionalism and commitment to the safety and well-being of animals, increasing tutor' trust in the cat sitter's care.

• Peace of Mind for All Parties:

  • Insurance provides an additional layer of security and peace of mind for both the cat sitter and the cat tutors, ensuring they are financially protected in case of unforeseen events.

• Coverage for the Cat Sitter's Medical Expenses:

  • In case of accidents during work, such as bites or scratches that require medical treatment, the insurance can help cover these expenses, protecting the cat sitter's health and well-being.

• Protection Against Third-Party Claims:

  • If the cat under the cat sitter's responsibility causes damage to third parties or third-party property, liability insurance can cover these claims, avoiding legal and financial problems for the cat sitter.

Medication: Administers the appropriate and accurate amount of medication at the required time of day, whether the medicine is oral (liquid or tablet), inhale, insulin or subcutaneous injections, topical ointments and flea medicine, eye drops or another type at no aditional cost. The administration of the medicine is not guaranteed and it is always dependent on the cat's collaboration. During the introductory visit, we will evaluate and we will see whether or not the cat is a good candidate for taking the medication at home. We avoid any type of forced restraint as much as possible, as it can increase stress and be detrimental to recovery, as well as to establishing a relationship of trust between the cat and the catsitter.

Precaution: when we detect something unusual, we will contact the tutor immediately

Security: Monitor and maintain the security of your home by locking all doors and windows, setting the house alarm, and adjusting lights, blinds, and windows to give your home a comfortable look while you are away.

Extra tasks: Perform other minor household tasks, such as watering plants or picking up mail and packages at no additional cost
